Getting down to Business

Well the computer is still working, just. I've backed everything up as well as working from my ehd. My sweet, wonderful hubby is going to build me a new one in the next couple of months. So we'll be shopping for all the bits and pieces very shortly.

So I'm setting up my own business. I've been a freelance digital artist/graphic designer for many years now. I've never really marketed myself or advertised but now I need to. Before I was doing it just for "pocket money" but now this is my main income and I've got to make it work. I decided to set up an online store. I started this a couple of years ago actually but my personal life took a major nose dive and I had to shelve my plans. Back on track now though. Yeah!

I'm planning to launch in just 2 weeks time. As well as offering quality, unique graphics for digital scrapbooking, print and web design, I will be offering a fabo printing service including 12x12 prints and photo books. I'm ironing out all those details in the next week. I'm so excited. I want this business to work and I want my store to work as if it was a bricks and mortar building - in terms of how people feel when they visit etc.. So I'm working flat out at the moment uploading new products and getting all the admin done.

Oh and here's a couple of products I've just released in my Scrap Girls store:
I love these little raggedy flowers. I created them using bits of scrap fabric, ribbons and buttons and then scanned them and made them into a digital product. I think these are my fave kind of products. Simply because it means that I can actually sit and get hands on with fabrics and textures. I've done some kind of crafting since I was a little girl and my grandmother taught me to crochet.Oh and I love these roses. They are from my garden and the product started out as a set of "perishing roses" - petals and blooms which I'm still doing. Once I'd scanned them I thought I'd create an assortment of coloured roses - some unusual. Love them!

So yeah, back to business! x
